You could advertise your services in the local paper, ie, Man With a Van. People always need stuff shifting and you'll be cheaper then any removal man.

Might be worth a call to them....

Where are you?.....
In any particular area, Thomson Local directories and/or Yellow Pages are only delivered for a few days per year. Adverts for delivery staff normally appear, a few weeks beforehand, in local newspapers.

To see if there's anything coming up in your area, you could try phoning the following numbers:

The Direct Distribution Company (distributors of Yellow Pages) 01923 494200

Product Development Corporation UK (distributors of Thomson Local) 01904 606300

DDC pay a good rate per copy delivered (about 25p) but this includes a payment towards fuel costs.

PDC pay a really low rate per copy (about 5p) but provide a hefty fuel supplement on top. (e.g. On one route, I delivered 380 copies for just 19 but they paid an extra 45 for fuel - there's no way you use that much fuel just driving around one village!).

Those rates are for predominantly rural routes. The figures are different for urban deliveries.
