Job satisfaction

How many of you are actually doing the job you always wanted to? Or have you ended up taking a job because it was convenient hours, good money, in the right place, a way purely to earn money? I feel hard done by because I don't have the career I always planned. But maybe everyone is like that? Maybe that's just life?!

i am just starting my third year as a student nurse - its hard, long hours, but i love it even it has taken 20 yrs to get here.
this is what i wanted to do when i was19, but circumstances got in the way so now its my turn to do what i want.
if there is something you always knew you could do then see if its the right time to try.

I finally qualified as a teacher at 51. It was a long and tortuous route, having worked in engineering, commerce, retail. Worked as a Teaching Assistant then taught with unqualified status whilst studying for a degree through OU. Completed my training through the Graduate Training Programme. Having the best time of my life but don't regret leaving it so late because I don't think I could have handled teaching without all my previous life experiences.
