Anybody any info on this? replied to an advert in the national press and got all the blurb today, sounds fantastic but too good to be true! i.e. no indication of how much the training is until you phone up, but dont want to do that if its just a lot of hard sell to get you to do the training, and then end up with nothing at the end of it. !Thanks to all in advance

Smells like doorstep selling, to pursuade punters to part with hard-earned cash to help them work out where their electricity gets used. Either flogging them a gadget that measures it or possibly measuring it for them yourself. Do you understand where the income stream is supposed to come from?

from the householder, the report is supposed to form part of these home info packs that are being introduced.

I beleieve it costs several thousand pounds to train and they've put HIPs off til August, and even then only 4 bedromm + houses. I wouldnt want to part with any cash. See Qand A section in the link-apparently there are plenty of Energy inpsectors 'in the system'

There are several reputable HIPS training organisations. Shop around for comparisons before deciding on this change of career.

Hi been there, seen it and got the certificate, cost wll be around 3k all in, accreditation is 150 + vat, no guarentee of any work whatsoever. aveage energy performance cert you will get around �30-60. less the payment costs for using landmark database, software providers fee, insurance costs travel costs. Would have rather invested my money. trained through Elmhusts energy systems, they are crap. For you own sake walk away from this.
