are actually working and getting paid, but taking the pi55 by spending most of the day on here. I am retired, so I can.
If you were an employer would you pay a person to spend time on here.

Im not working. Im not getting any sodding benefits either because they make it so freaking impossible to claim them, im just living off money I dont have. Back to work soon though
: (
Fine, thanks has never kept it a secret that she thinks it's crazy how people get paid to doss on the internet. Or that she is shocked by the amount of 'I'm bored' questions. So I personally doesn't think she needs to lighten up.

Me...I'm self employed so work whatever hours I want. Plus theres always a gap between jobs when I'm waiting for someone to call me back or for things to be dropped off.
Same here, no way would I waste my own time coming on here when I could just waste work time! I don't know why people feel the need to excuse themselves for coming on whilst at work either, I certainly don't feel I have to excuse and explain myself to anyone making judgements on what I do!
ummmmmmm, being self employed and working for a company are totally different, : )
No, not really, fine, thanks. I work with/for my dad as an employee and am just as likely to get my arse kicked for not pulling my weight as anyone else. I'm officially the company secretary, too, but I'm on here a lot. As long as I get all the work done that I need to, where's the problem?
Work with Mr Roach running own business & I'm usually in the shop/office & I can do what the heck I want. Yipee....Do miss the company of other people thats why I look on AB .x
Well until they install computers in school kitchens, I'm never going to be able to waste works time coming on here (I wouldn't anyway as I worry way too much and would only worry about getting caught and getting into trouble)
I guess so long as work is done and AB doesn't take precedent over doing what your paid to do then I guess it helps to keep a happy (ish) workforce by being one of the perks. Could easily be abused tho.

:o)
Since I handed my notice in a couple of weeks ago, productivity has halved. So I suppose that I'm taking the p1ss a bit now, but I can't feel too bad given that I'm leaving them with a quadruple rise in turnover in my sector of the business since I arrived.
And no, that doesn't mean we now turn over 4 a year as opposed to 1 :)
Were i work the boss is so thick he don't know what taking the p_*@ is, he has to get his 'seniour assistant' to explain to him what the hells going on.
And before you start feeling sorry for him theres nothing wrong with him (ilness wise) he's just dam lazy!!!!!!!!!!
I see it as a good thing because he if we mess around with the disapline board he thinks he made the changes and just forgot about it

thanks for all the insight

Yes the boss pays me 280 a day for doing nothing. Plus if we make him a cup of tea he gives us an extra 50
when im at work i dont have time to come on here and even if i did i would be shot, however if i was in a job that allowed me time to be on here i would either seek a more challenging job or make better use of my spare time like study for more qualifications or read a book and expand my mind
So if we are in a job which allows us to spend time on AB in the work place we should spend our spare time studying to get better qualifications so that we can get a job which does not allow us time on AB so that we can then use our spare time to come on AB. No ta, I'll stick with taking the p*ss at work and enjoying my spare time with people I can actually see and well away from all computer technology!
I'm on maternity leave at the moment but don't come on here much during the day as I'm too busy playing with my son and trying to get the smell of baby sick out of my clothes :) but I did used to come on while at work until I found myself doing the work of 2 people instead of just my own and then I didn't have time, I was too busy wiping everyone else's bums. Chatting to whiskey on MSN was also VERY distracting :) When I go back to work I intend to use AB only during my lunch break :)
If I was an employer I'd make sure I knew what my employees were doing.
Rev, I dont micro manage my team as I trust them and empower them to get the job done, and if they have an issue with that, they come and see me. We meet once a week to iron out any concerns. I have no problem delegating and making executive decisions, or defending their position when needed. Some people need to be micro managed to get things done as they are not capable of meeting deadlines or making decisions - these are the ones that stray, but that is not my style of management and people like that dont fit into my team. People (in my team) need leadership by being shown the direction and joining in the voyage, not being hand held all the way to the finish line. Its a tight ship but we work on a flexible basis and as far as I am aware whilst I sit in my ivory tower looking down at them, they appear to be as happy as pigs in shi_

I agree with tiny, spare time is more valuable, so I dont waste it. If some gripey old jobsworth on here has an issue with that, do I really give a shi_? No.
