hello. hope i have the right section.. My wife works in a hairdressers parttime (17 hr a week ) her boss is shutting the shop for one day to go to her sons wedding. is my wife entitled to get paid for that day as it is no fault of her own, for the shop to be shut? ta.

I'm pretty certain that he can make her take it out of her annual leave allowance but I'm not sure that he can make her take it unpaid if she's contracted to work then. Try Acas 08457 47 47 47
I would say that if it was a day that she was contracted to work, she would be entitled to receive pay. If not, then no, but saffstar is right, best call ACAS.
