If you are trying to work out what happens when you leave or join in the middle of a month, different companies work things out different ways. However most will take the number of working days in that month, take the number of actual days you worked out in the month, and ratio the pay accordingly from the monthly amount.
My husband started last monday and was paid for 10 days today...but actually only worked 8 (Last weeks five and 3 this week) so does the 10 include sat and sun? Also he seems to have paid an awful amount of tax but his code hasn't changed so not likely to be emergency. Am so confused!
Are there not 10 weekdays from the start date (Mon 20th Aug) to the end of August?
Although it was paid in advance of the final day of the month a salary should include payment for all worked (and yet to be worked) days within that month.
But the 31st is Friday. So if he is monthly paid (and from your question it seems he is), he's surely been paid for 5 days last week and 5 days this week, up to Friday.
Monday was a public holiday, he did not work but gets paid.
Sounds right to me - many companies dole out the salary slips one day early. It's to allow wives to anticipate the spending potential a little early.
But he will still be paid for the 10 days left in August!
I get paid on the last wednesday of every month but still get paid for the whole month, even if the last wednesday happens to be the 25th or something.
No! They told him he was paid for 10 days...then his wage slip said 8. So they gave him the rest in cash (naughty!). Next month he will get his full month but still no answer on this....I think it is down to the tax code (he seemed to pay an awful amount of tax for a small amount of pay) although his tax code is the same as last jobs.
