Will a police caution for shoplifting come up on a police check to apply to do a BTEC National Diploma in public services

I work at a College that offers National Diplomas in Public Services and we definately don't do police checks before students are accepted onto the course.

I know a couple of people who have cautions who have been accepted onto the Uniformed Public Service course.

After reading Gok Wans answer I wouldnt worry too much. Good luck with it (apparently theres a hell of a lot of homework) :(
