Hi my boyfriend has been working a permanent 2 pm till 10 pm shift week in week out for three years and gets no shift allowence, is he entitled to it?

There is no entitlement to extra pay for working shifts.

Many companies do pay it - but many don't.
after 10pm he is classed as working night, but i believe that he has to work at least 2 hours between the hours of 10pm and 6am to legally get extra money.

The Government sets a minimum wage which varies according to the age of the employee. As long as this wage is being met, there is no requirement for any organisation to pay extra for evening/night hours or weekends/Public Holidays.

Any Company paying extra will be doing so purely to attract the right staff.
