Part P refers to the electrical safety part of Building Regulations. Since April 2004 one has had to satisfy minimum stds when working on domestic electrical circuits - not all circuits - but certainly for installing electrical showers, work in the kitchen and installing new ring circuits. Or else you have to make a Building Regs application and have BC come and inspect the work.
The requirement is for a qualified electrician and the qualification mentioned above does the job.
