I am applying for a new job, the application form asks for you Social Security No. is that the same as a National Insurance No.

Thank you In A Pickle, it is for a district council position, so I don't know why they have a US application form.

Hi i am a uk born and hold a green card for the states which means i can work in the U S when im ther. I have a social security card for the U S this is only used in the states it wont work in uk as the uk has its own Nat/insuer card
