Hi all

I lost my job due to redundancy 2 months ago and am finding it impossible to find any form of work (full or part time) at the moment in the area so thought i might retrain.

I am currently on jobseekers allowance but the job centre wont tel me about entitlements and study.

Do i have to pay for training or do i get any help?
do i get any support with cost of living when studying?

many thanks

Do you qualify for one of the New Deal programmes (or whatever they now call them).
These are (or used to be) targeted at specific groups - the under 25, the over 50 and others.
If so, the answer is probably yes. Push the JobCentre over this.

Check with your local College - ours offers fee remission on most courses for people in receipt of certain benefits, JSA being one of them.
