qualifications needed for a career in forensics?

my daughter who is 14 has recently shown an interest in a career in forensics - this without EVER watching an episode of CSI !! - she is also showing interest in criminal psychology. What A level subjects do you think she will need to aim for? She is currently taking her GCSE science a year early, and will be sitting a GSCE in advanced science next year with the rest of her subjects, which are , English, Welsh , Maths, I.T, History , French and Art.

Your daughter'd need an honours degree 2.2 or above, in biology or chemistry, and would also need to have at least 6 month's experience in a hospital laboratory or similar, as well as needing to to go on in-house training courses. Alternatively, she'd need 4 GCSE's A-C, in biology, chemistry, English and maths, plus an A Level in chemistry or biology, which could lead to her being accepted as an assistant forensic scientist with an opportunity to gain further qualifications.

My son started sixth form in Sep,he also wants to get into forensics.He is studying,A level Sociology,Psychology,Law and triple science.These were advised by his sixth form tutor on registration day.He has then got to go onto University for the other courses suggested.HTH
