hi gonzo, thanks for your answer mate. i should have worded my question a little more carefully, what i meant was that i saw a job vacancy looking for shot blasters/industrial painters and i wanted to look into how to get training or certification for it. been out of work due to breaking my collarbone and using this time to try and find a change of path.
thanks for your advice though, appreciated mate.
if you have any idea how i'd go about training etc though it'd really help as i keep hitting dead ends.
cheers

Hi,
If you live in scotland and are looking to start this I saw in the paper the other week that Petrofac have started running trainee courses in Blasting & Painting - i think it is aimed at offshore people but it might be worth a check - their website is www.petrofactraining.com but if you type it into google the press stuff comes up on the main Petrofac page.
Hope this helps! good luck!

They also run a competence assessment course for experienced blaster / painters who are looking for a certificate to prove their competency.
