Look, I guess it depends on what you really want to do and your personal circumstances.
Nursing as a career seems to have many options (I know nothing about it though have been involved extensively in career counselling).
Perhaps as a step you might get some impartial advice from one of the bigger specialist agencies?

Even if you don't want to / intend to register, it might help to speak to someone outside the work environment but inside the profession.
But maybe you are looking to transfer from nursing completely.

Have you thought about training?

I am an RGN/RMN and have been out of 'hands on' nursing for 5 years. I am an assessor/trainer with a private training provider and I now assess Health and Social Care at levels 2, 3 and 4, Management 3 and 4, Business and Admin, IT and Customer Service. I plan my own diary, work from home, still have contact with service users but at the end of the day say goodbye and go home, without worrying I have missed something, forgotten to sign a drug sheet, or any other numerous things I used to worry about. I also have not worked a bank holiday for 5 years. A massive bonus!

It might be cheaper to wait until after half term next week.
