The company I work for have recently made redundancies as soon as these poor unfortunates were shown the goodbye for good door they had agency workers in doing jobs that they were more than capable of doing surely this stinks

Yes it does.
If a period of less than 3 months has elapsed since the poor unfortunates were dismissed, they could consider a claim at an Employment Tribunal for unfair dismissal (jobs were not really redundant - please can we have them back).
That's the way to deal with it.

To build on what buildersmate has said, I think the employer could get round it though if the agency workers were just taken on for short periods to deal with one-off jobs.
Did the staff who were made redundant get an enhanced package?
Had they been there less than a year? If so then I think they can't claim unfair dismissal

Ive just been made redundant after nearly four years. The company employed a polish guy about two months ago to do a job I could of done. He kept his job because he was on some kind of council/ agency deal. Still doesnt seem fair.
