Hi, im filling in an application form and it asks for "desktop applications" or "Proficiency in the use of desktop applications including but not limited to the Microsoft Office application suite", when it says desktop applications it means applications like firefox, ie, adobe but what other applications could i put down, i use wmp but is that a good 1 to put down as i dont want them to think i use wmp to play music etc all the tiem when i should be working

Well ive put down im competent in microsoft office 2007 and a variety of other desktop applications eg adobe
Do you have any experience with photo-editing suites, DTP (eg. Publisher) or web design apps that you could put down?

Also, if you have any experience in specialist applications, it might be worth putting down. For instance, I'm proficient in a piece of software called Galaxy, which is used widely in libraries.
I guess they are trying to find out what you can do, without limiting responses to microsoft Office. So, what programs you would use with confidence to make letters, brochures, reports, spreadsheets etc.

Yes they basically want to see what programs i use, ill add some more to the application form
