since seriously injuring my back, leg, hio, and foot earlier this year i have lost my job and have been unable to find any work that i am physically able to do
are there any good jobs that i could do at home on an adhoc basis and get paid for it?
i can type and am ok to sit on the laptop on and off although couldnt manage all day.
any idea where i could find a work from home job as the job centre have been very unhelpful as have local agencies etc.
many thanks

I work, on a casual basis, for a firm called Deya. They're the people that distribute all of the UK's Yellow Pages (and many phone books and other directories as well). The type of work I do myself (recruiting staff and supervising deliveries) wouldn't be suitable for you because it's not entirely home based and can involve hard physical work at times. But Deya also employs staff, who work from home, checking that people like me, and the teams who work under me, have done our jobs properly. They phone people up, to ask them whether they've received their directory and how it was delivered. They then enter the results of their calls onto Deya's computer system. (Broadband access is required).
There's no outlay involved because all of the phone calls are routed, free of charge, through Deya's phone system (so nothing is added to the route checkers' phone bills). Because I don't work on that side of things, I don't know how regular the work is or what the current vacancy position is, but you might be interested in applying. What I can definitely tell you is that Deya is a reputable company and you'd be fairly paid.
At the time I'm writing this (nearly 4am - I really must go to bed!) Deya's website seems to be down, so I can't provide a direct link to the recruitment page. But, when the site is back online, you can go here
http://www.deya.co.uk/
and look for the 'Jobs' link, which explains about the work and lets you apply online.
