Hi

I may be starting some volunteer work soon but I claim job seekers allowance, I was just wondering if I will end up getting less JSA because of this, I am still looking for a paid job at the same time as volunteer work.

It's along time since I was out of work, but I think it's got tougher since then, and back then I had to suspend a voluntary thing for two hours one night a week or risk losing....

I'm sure details about this were given in the agreement and papers I got when I signed upfor JSA for a few months earlier this year
I recall you can be eligible for JSA so long as you work fewer than 16 hours a week. Will your voluntary work exceed 16 hours a week?
I am on JSA and do a couple of afternoons a week at a charity shop. You will NOT receive less JSA but let your jobcentre know so it is on record. :-)
