can you believe i was "counselled" last week for not offering a customer a green re usable bag in a well known supermarket, and if i do it again i will be disiplined!! what is the world coming to lol ??
poodicat, yes they do have to pay for the green bags, but they are a bag for life. They pay 5p for it but if it gets a hole in it we have to replace it free of charge!.I only had 10 minutes training on the till and was not told to offer a bloody bag. Then just my luck I got the "mystery shopper"on a late Saturday night .Hows that for bad luck???
Jollyes pet shop have started asking if you would like a bag (free) but also ask if you need the receipt (great idea, saves throwing it in the bin as you go out the door)
Yeah we ask that too. We always give a reciept if somethings paid for with a credit or debit card, but if its paid for with cash, we ask. If they dont wan't one, it's not printed.
thanks for all your feedback,im amazed at how many of you agree with me!As you can imagine I was quite offended at the counselling jobbie as I have been at Asda for 17 years, only on the till recently,I suppose long service dont mean a thing these days!
well i´ve had 2 bags for life for ages now, i know when they fall apart, they´ll get replaced. in ireland i believe they´ve banned plastic bags. common sense seems to prevail there
