200,000 unused hours - I need Help!!!

I have 200 employees that are available for 4 hours per day and these individuals are spread throughout the country. I am looking for a way to keep these individuals busy and to make money. I need help. Does anyone have any ideas?

They are truck drivers. They are in the trucks for about 10 hours a day but they sit still for 4 hours and are completely idle.

That's great! give them an incentive. Get a customer and get paid by helping people save money. You may already have 200 new customers then and drive the Porsche for a month. So these drivers are in their cabs ,driving for 10 hours-----are they?
And you want them to do something else as well in the 4 hours they are not driving-- am I right so far?
When do they get to have a break or eat if they are going to be working 14 hours a day?
On the face of it , you seem to be the kind of employer anyone can do without.
If I have got all this wrong , then you need to make your original post more clear.

Brenda - They are at work for 10 hours per day. Of those 10 hours, 4 are spent doing nothing. We are looking for something for these people to do during this down time.

Why not encourage the workforce to suggest ideas and say that the best suggestion will win a meal out or money or something to make them want to say something. After all they know what kind of skills they have or what is feasible for them.

they have to have the time off by law, and they can only work so many hours in a month, when they are on there "rest breaks" it means just that rest, im sure D.O.T would love to know your making the drivers work in the rest breaks

Where do you get your facts Eddie?

Maximum driving in a day is nine hours, but it can be extended to ten twice in one week.

They have to have a break or breaks totalling forty five minutes minutes after four and a half hours cumulative driving.
If they were to drive ten hours in a day, they would need a break of eleven hours, although this can be reduced to nine three times in a week.

toko2g could well have drivers at work for ten ours a day, and have them available for work doing nothing for four hours.

However if he thinks he is going to suddenly start getting them to do anything useful then he is deluded.

So you want them to work 14 hours a day. Why are they at work for four hours without doing anything, don't you let them go home?

You'd save money if you didn't have to pay them for sitting around doing nothing for four hours, if they were allowed home for this time, unless it is spread out throughout the day, and if it is, isn't there any way of changing it so they only work a ten hour day then go home?
