Need a career change

I have worked as a tax inspector for Customs & Excise for 4 years now and have gained a lot of knowledge, I have also found that I hate office politics and I hate the way government ministers meddle when they don't know what they are talking about, I also can't stand how blinkered many people high up in the Civil Service are. It is pushing me to the point that I would like to, well lets just say its not legal and would put me in prison for a long time. Stress levels are at a point where meltdown is fast approaching. I have always enjoyed being around animals and was wondering what careers are out there unfortunately I have a mortgage so I would need to be earning at least �22,000 a year what jobs are out there?
