Noone will get ema after this year for attending further education, do you think less people will go to college?

If so it'll only be a msall drop, but I do know of people that picked the three easiest a-level subjects or are doing gcse resits, to get the money because it's easier than getting a job.

ummmm, my daughter is doing art and photography. it does cost a small fortune!
I think with courses like that help should be given. The price of paint brushes alone is enough to put you off.
whitebears.. whose standards are you judging that on?

my daughter doesn't smoke, drink copious amounts of alcohol, or buy designer clothing! she goes to 6th form for her education.
dris: i graduated in liverpool
Dris was asking what degree you have, not where you achieved it..
sorry - im dyslexic, dont read things properly, i grad in computer technology.
Thats good WhiteBears.Did you get a good job after you graduated? Did you think it was worthwhile making sacrifices for a few years in order to have a better chance than someone who didnt got to College and Uni?

Don't forget goign to the cinema and video game WB . . .
Molly...do think that if students didn't get EMA that they wouldn't go to the cinema or buy video games?
Question Author
They wouldn't be able to buy as many. Plus are you lot that pay taxes happy with someone getting £30 a week plus 2 £100 bonuses a year to then spend it on going to the cinema and on video games, it's a different matter when it's your money and not theirs . . . .

I was going to answer Molly but realised that I was annoyed so didn't bother.

She really seems to have an issue on what other people spend their money on.
dris: thanks had a good time at uni but i didnt get anything out of what i studied. i am still temping doing something completely diff to what i studied.
after graduating i couldnt find any wrk relating to my degree as what i studied were either out of date or i have no experience. i would need to do more courses / training paying up to a further £2k +.
sara im not saying all of them! :)

Umm i jsut don't think it's fair. Plus i was hoping that anyone who pays tax would agree with me saying that they shouldn't have their hard earned money given to teenagers to go to the cinema and buy video games.

£30 a week....That won't buy many games and will not pay for many visits to the cinema.

Not bitter, more annoyance with my mum who made up a little over the limit which means we're losing out as I would have got more in total with the ema than what she earned. But at least it means they buy my stationary etc and dads making mum give me bus fair if it's raining.
