Employment Tribunals..Proposed Government Changes

The government are proposing raising the amount of time an employee spends with an employer from one year to two years before the employee can bring a claim for unfair dismissal at an employment tribunal.

So in practice, you could work some place for 23 months and you can get fired for no reason and with no compensation. Is it only me who thinks this is very unfair??

Exactly the same as the last time they were in power.

The only reason for it is so that the unscrupulous can sack people.

Any employer worth its salt decides within a year if the employee is worth hanging onto, so this change is unnecessary.

I think that this is very unfair as well. Would you like to start an online petition against this new needless rule? I think we should all sign it if you do.
