Precise requirements may vary between universities so it might be worth looking up some uni websites and reading up about medicine in their prospectuses. You should get an idea about any special requirements there.
What will generally be the case is that they will want very high grades - often all As. Also either a scientific background or one in which science is balanced against social science and arts subjects. At the minute you have one science and three arts/soc science subjects. It might be worth considering a second science. Chemistry could be useful in terms of background as you will need to study a lot of chemistry in terms of the use of drugs to control mental disturbance if you go on to psychiatric training.
If however you want to be a psychologist then your balance of subjects should be fine to get you onto a psychology degree course - subject to grades obviously.
Hi
I looked into becoming a psychiatriast. You need to study medicine first, which requires Biology and Chemistry for all universities. Most others like you to have one other subject like a language or something to show you are well rounded. You need to get all As or AAB at most unis too. Aswell as this, most will not accept you if you got less than a B at GCSE maths! Daunting huh? Then you have to get through the interviews too. But are you sure you know the difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist? Most people actually get this wrong, so that could be worth looking into. Try the UCAS website and have a look at Unis that offer medicine. this will show you some of the criteria to study medicine. Good luck. If you study hard enough you can do it!
