I would imagine... that you could move from sick pay to maternity pay, yes. It would depend on the employer's terms and conditions, though.

bit wrong isnt it, as surely if you're not well enough to work you are not well enough to be at it
Maybe she was pregnant earlier and had only just found out?
Question Author
this isnt about any real person, its a what if question, so not pregnant before, went of sick then got pregnant
Oh. I think if you are still officially employed, they would probably still have to pay it.
Wouldn't it depend on what they were off sick for?
Depends what she was sick with - it you broke your leg, you could still have a baby!

You have to think laterally, 4get!

I spose it would only be fair then if they had broken their leg
I was off sick when I got pregnant - I'd been knocked down, then I got knocked up :) But I was back at work for a long time before I went off on maternity leave. She'd have to be off for a pretty long time and by then she wouldn't be on full pay so I'm not sure what the procedure would be. Maybe she was already pregnant but didn't know and that's why she wasn't well. (I know it's not about a real person, but in theory....)
yes, morning sickness (rang work, can't come in ) next day rang again,
3rd day rang in won't be in for a day or two I'm pregnant. Ô¿Ô.
Question Author
hadnt thought would be 9 months before maternty got paid, so yes they would have had to be sick a long time lol
Amazing what you can do with your leg in plaster
