What is the law regarding the building of Tombs/Monuments in a Cemetery?

I want to build a monument for myself and put my corpse in it. Are there size limitations? Whose permission do I need? Do I just buy a plot from a Council and crack on? Thanks.

You'd need to contact the particular body that oversee your cemetery.
They will be able to advise you quite what is/isn't acceptable or permissible.

All significant building needs planning permission doesn't it.

Might be easier just to bury yourself under your patio. No one will find you there, and the whole house is then your tomb.

It is all set out in the Burial Laws Amendment Act 1880. Hooray for Google!

YOu do need to contact wherever it is that you want to be laid to rest - the laws about what you can put in a cemetery are much more strict these days.
