Corrupt Landlord!

Hi guys, how is the best way forward to get money owed to me from a previous landlord,it is a £600 security bond which he did not lodge with the appropriate association.I have left recorded messages on his phone but he does not reply.I have his address but he is not there when I have called,I am very annoyed about this and wonder if he is ripping other tenants off.Please help.

in future, never give the landlord the opportunity of ripping you off. pay thr final rent minus the deposit. i only had my fingers burnt the once...never again. you may have to take him to the small claims court for recompense. sorry.

If it wasn't lodged with the appropriate body, you can claim for 3x the amount back (don't have a link - sorry, also don't know how you go about it).

If he has not lodged the bond then surely he has committed an offence and should be subject to a fine.

That is certainly the case where I live in Australia.

Write a recorded letter demanding return within 14days and threaten court proceedings. That should give you a response. If not, take him to court.
