My daughter (widowed) is considering remarrying. My worry is she owns her own house paid by insurance on her husbands death and also two ice-cream
vans which she rents bringing her a weekly income. If she marries does her second husband have any claim to either the house or business if they split. (Scottish Law)

I'd go with ummm's suggestion, a pre-nup doesn't carry actual legal weight but it lays out both your assets and shows what you came into the marriage with (and therefore what you'd expect to leave with). We did one, like your daughter I own our house. I don't know if Scots law might have a similar process.
