Ex partner - now wants half the car
Hi can anyone help... me and my partner split up in april he moved out in may, he moved into my ready made home 3 years ago and in december he had a claim payout so we replaced sofa, table and chairs, bed, in december we had a different car which wasnt paid out of his claim money but was from payday loans taken out in my name.
when we split he took the sofa table and chairs and bed and loads of other little stuff (which i thought was wrong as for the previous 3 years he had used my stuff which was brought before this relationship began but left me with the car which wasnt going to pass the mot he said it wasnt his problem! ) now he says he want half the money that we paid for the car and that i can either settle it now or hes taking me to court..can anyone give me any advice

If you are satisfied with the financial position as it now is and believe the split to be equitable ignore threats of court action, which will probably come to nothing and get on with your life. There are times when the correct action is to do nothing; this may be one of them.
tell him to bog off....and if he wants to make an idiot of himself in court to go right ahead. and remind him of the costs that it will take him to get there. then....laugh in his face and wander off. he sounds like a complete t*t and you are well rid. if i were in your shoes....i'd double dare him! x
