A colleague is an author who sells his books via a standard Amazon kindle contract. He owns the copyright but Amazon are the distributors and forward the proceeds having taken their cut. He now wishes to shelter the income through a ltd company. Would he simply be able to assign the copyright and would he need permission from or co-operation/renegotiation with Amazon? If the contract with Amazon names him personally would a simple declaration of a bare trust in favour of the company be effective without requiring Amazon's involvement?
