Reasons To Be Cheerful, It Doesn't Take Much

I just discovered that deliveroo will deliver from my local Co-op, Morrisons, and M and S...along with local restaurants of course. More choice and immediate gratification.
And, one of my young jungle cacti has buds! Flowers soon! I must be doing something right...they need the right conditions.
Anybody else got reasons to be cheerful?

I've just made a delicious Victoria sponge and the kitchen smells of baking. Male blackbird made me laugh earlier on, he had a big splashy bath in the small drinking bowl, love him!

Amazed to walk straight into Waitrose this morning....no queues in or out. Quiet inside and well stocked....this was at 10am. I was surprised and felt really pleased...things felt like getting back to a bit like normal.

I have just realised we have had no junk phone calls for weeks, because Covid has closed all the call centres down everywhere!

Being on full lockdown I had to order seeds online - they arrived today and I've already got a lot planted

Ginge...I've not been in a supermarket in 6(?)weeks. It will seem weird when I do enter one.

Canary, no garden here. But I take time to water and check my 100+ houseplants every day.

I got some impatiens today for my border, the shop was quiet so I went in, we have a Bank Holiday here, so it was great, also got some begonia - so I shall be gardening tomorrow and deciding where to plant them

I had a Sainsbury's delivery today. Goodness knows how but I managed to sneak under the radar on Saturday for a delivery today.
I've booked a Click and Collect order for next Monday too. I'm so pleased because I'm finding going to the shop quite stressful.

Everyone I know is fine, at the moment, and my garden is absolutely beautiful because we spend at least an hour a day working in it.

My hair is now manageable and the hour exercise, is paying dividends to our fitness and well being.

Tilly is coping well with the lockdown. In fact, I'm not so sure she has noticed it. She has her little walk each day and has her food and treats as normal. I find it comforting that she has no worries apart from the swans hissing at her, as we walk along the river. She waits for them to swim to the side and then runs off when they hiss. :-)

All in all, we are fine but I am aware that many, many people are not. I just count my blessings on a daily basis.

I had a Red Kite 'hovering' about 30' over my head whilst sat in the garden this afternoon, it then descended into the alley behind the garage.

Let me see, Eleanor...about 7 types of philodendron, pothos, 5 or 6 varieties of jungle cacti, wandering Jews ( tradescantia ), succulents, spider plants, asparagus ferns, prayer plants and their relatives, monsteras, staghotn ferns, and anything that trails and vines.

Tilly, poor Sammi will be in for a shock when "normal" happens. He's still in fear mode sometimes with only a few people about. He's particularly worried by children.

Bobbi...glad you got your balloons sorted. We'll want pictures.

Shoota, I live in a busy area...but was lucky enough to see a kite hovering over a residential street a few years ago.

We were v lucky to have a flock (?) of maybe 25 - 30 red kites flying nearby at the end of last week, usually see one or two directly overhead but never seen that many around here. I did wonder if lack of road kill on the Brecon Beacons caused them to stray further afield.
