Can i force a sale and on grounds of what?

Hi, me and my wife are busy with a divorce but now she want me to pay her morgage as well as maintenance. I would be unable to afford to live apart from renting a room. Our son is 7 years old and she also have 2 other of 16 and 13. The 16 year old is working and the 13 year old might be living with his dad. I want to sell the house and clear of all the debt but she is indisisive and keep changing her mind. Could i force her to sell and if so on grounds of what? I said i would pay her morgage or pay her maintenance untill our son is old enough to leave the house. She also works Please help with some advise!!!!

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Catso, please don't thake this the wrong way but since your situation is complicated by the financial obligations and children surely you have a lawyer who deals with your divoirce and who should have explained all this to you. If not get one ASAP.
Your entire situation needs to be taken into consideration, which is why you would not be able to get a complete advice in here. Still, as far as I am aware you are under no obligation to pay for the mortgage and! the maintenance and you can't make her sell. Get a lawyer and all the best of luck. I am sorry you have to go through this but don't forget she would have a lot more responsibilities then you so don't blame her for trying. Despite the kids being involved it is a business transaction treat it as such and keep your emotions out of it.
