I work part time 20hrs and have a contract but it doesn't state my shifts, i have worked there for 7 years and always done weekday day shifts but helped out over weekends as and when short staffed. I was told 4 weeks ago that from now on i would be doing saturday nights. Not a problem then i was told i was moving to tues nites as well not day.. Have just been told to use my weeks holiday and my new rota ( i didn't know about ) is inside my wage packet. Got my new rota to find i'm not working any weekday shifts just tues, thurs fri and sat nites is this allowed ? it's brought into action the day i go back.
Not without prior consultation with you. Sounds like a fait accompli to me. You've been there 7 years afterall as custom and practice says your shift pattern is pretty much known about.
Is it just you impacted or is it everyone?
In the meantime, phone your manager state that you are unhappy about this, and the way it has been done, and you would like further discussion about it before you are willing to accept it.
