Party, wall etc Act 1996
This is a complete mightmare. We have extensive building work taking place beside our home. Under the 1996 Act we were meant to be served with a 'statutory notice' informing us of the builders intentions. We did not receive one of these.
Spoke with the council and they informed me that it is a civil matter and there is nothing that they can do, there must be some recompence available.
We no longer have a fence where they have taken it down to build a massive out-house/conservatory, our kitchen wall is bulging out due to the endless drilling, knocking and everything els and to top it off since the rain on bank holiday monday our kitchen ceiling is now leaking.
Can anyone advise on where to go or who to contact re any free legal advice in regard to this??
