Next of Kin

I was adopted by my stepfather as a child but due to family arguments i have changed my name back to my original (mothers surname) and want nothing more to do with him however a couple of years ago he was in hospital and put me down as next of kin.He lives with his partner in Spain and has only a brother he is due back shortly for hospital treatment if anything happens am i still next of kin or would it be the brother?? his partner will not be coming with him. As his daughter you are his next of kin, but that is really meaningless.

If you are contacted by the hospital or any other body, refer them to whoever you think best - his partner or brother, and make it clear you are not accepting any responsibility for your father.
