Can anyone tell me how and when an Executor of someone's Will can claim out of pocket expenses (ie headstone, etc. which he has paid for) which currently stand at 10,000. Grateful for any help.
After he collects in moneys due to the estate (bank accounts, savings, sale of house, etc), he pays his own expenses and the debts of the estate out of these before distributing the remainder to the other beneficiaries.
If there isn't enough to pay the expenses/debts, then there is a priority order in which to pay them. He needs advice if this is the case.
I'd say that a headstone is a very grey area though - I doubt if it's really chargeable to the estate at all.
