how long does a divorce take?

my boyfriend is going through a divorce at the moment, him and his ex split up over two years ago the divorce was filed in april and my partner signed the papers two weeks later but then she said she had to go to court with it and we still haven't heard, me and my partner are having to put our plans on hold because of it how long does it normally take?
please help getting frustrated!

divorces take different times - depending on the circumstances. the only winners are the solicitor on each side, the longer things drag on - the more money they make.

the thing to do is get your boyfriend to instruct his solicitor to get a move on

My divorce took 3 years because he wouldn't sign the papers,then he kept moving house and we had to keep finding him to serve more papers.There was also a child involved so that complicated matters too.

mine took about 4-5 months but we didnt have any children to deal with and we did it ourselves which is a fraction of the cost
