reclaim debts off ex husband

my sister and brother in law incured debtsof about �4000 they divorced and debt collectors came knocking ,they only tracked her down and made her pay off the whole debt herself, through loans etc ,he never paid a penny ,even though debts were also in his name.this was ten years ago and he has now moved back into the area . could she take him to court for half of the debt or does time scale prevent this

Even if she did take him to court and prove that they agreed the debt would be paid back evenly by the two of them and even if she won, there is no guarantee that she would get any money,

Getting the judgement is the easy bit. Getting the money could be years of frustration and wasted effort.

Time to put it all behind her and get on with her life.
