Neighbour has drilled into my wall
9 Answers
My Neighbour has drilled into the side of my kitchen wall that is next to his property, we live in terraced houses but we all have extensions at the back on the left hand side of the property, so we all live with our neighours wall running along side part of our garden. My neighbour has put up a trellis without my permission and as we already have damp in the wall I am concerned that it is going to make it worse. he hasn't tresspassed onto the land, but it is still my wall and feel he has no right to drill into am I right? and can I make him remove it

I would simply tell him he must remove it or you'll speak to your solicitors. Try and leave it at that - if he starts moaning about 'it's just a trellis.' don't get involved. Just say your piece and leave.

I can understand your concern. I sit here as my neighbour is drilling on the adjoining walls again in different parts of the house. It's been going on now for years and my walls must resemble a pincushion. I can literally here the sound of wood being sawed upstairs so he's clearly going under the floorboards.
The problem is I've got it the other side too. It's a terraced house and is often filled with different fumes from what they've done. It's ongoing harassment. The council came out on one occasion, saw the holes drilled through one of the walls (same house that is currently working on the walls again), weeks later there was the loudest masonry banging, hammering and drilling I've ever heard and I've heard a lot of it. I beleve they were taking the offending bricks out their side. Especially as just after they took random bricks out of the wall overlooking my back yard. Goodness knows why. They're very confident with what they do.
At times my face and lips are sore from the stuff they put through into my home, from both sides. And there's nowhere to turn because I believe it's covered up.
