Custody
Back in December, I applied for custody of my daughter because, at the time, I beleived my daughters mom was incapable of looking after her. The court ordered reports from social services, my daughters moms doctor and the health visitor. Social services came back with a concern about my daughters mom because she refused to meet with them. Obviously, there has been a great gap between that time and now. My daughters mom and I have talked a great deal and she now is fit to look after our daughter and i have no concerns about her well being. About a month ago, I sent my solicitor to court to rescind my application. Because of the social services report, the court refused this and ordered myself and my daughters mom to attend at a later date. That date is next week and Im worried about why they want us to attend. I was wondering what the court would do if we didnt turn up?

The court's first and main concern is the welfare of your daughter and they will need to be satisfied that she is well looked after with her mother in light of the social services concerns.
You will have every opportunity to explain to the court why you were concerned in December and how things have improved in the meantime.
If you don't attend Social Services will get involved without a doubt.
