Who owns our road?
We live on an unadopted road, which serves just two houses.
How can I find out who actually owns the road?
I've looked on property ownership websites, but they always seem to need a post code to track down property owner, and roads, per se, do not have post codes.
Any help most welcome.

There are several possibilities:
1) The land is owned by another landowner
2) The land is a public right of way, but not the public carriageway - it is instead a byway, restricted byway, bridleway (or even a footpath). In which case you probably have long usage rights to take a vehicle up there. See if it is the register of rights of way (County or Unitary Councils typically hold these).
3) No one owns it - it has just become lost in a time warp.
Does your land registry title make any comment about what right you have to pass / repass up there to access your land? - this may give you a clue.

If you have a decent plan to an identified scale and with identifying features and a north point, send it to the appropriate land registry with form SIM with a sufficient description...

It's free provided it picks up no more than 20 titles so don't search too big an area or catch parts of other people's land (ie houses along the road) in it if possible.
It should tell you if the land is registed and, if so, a title number.
If it is unregistered it would be much harder to trace, but if it is registered the search result will give you the title numbers and you can apply for copies of the title registers and plans to see who owns what.
