i have a private off - the - road parking space near my home. i do not have a car at the moment, but my neighbour keeps parking there without permission. what, if any, action can i take?

Just because you don't have a car at the moment doesn't mean you won't have a visitor.

You could always try the old fashioned method of taliking to your neighbour?

I have tried talking to my neighbour but when he sees me he jumps in his car and drives off. as he lives in a block of flats opposite my home i do no know exactly where he is or i would knock on his door! i dont know if i have any legal standing to do anything?

If you own the parking space, have the b*gger clamped: he'll soon come and talk to you then!

If you don't own the space, contact whoever does and seek their advice?action.

Or, if you don't fancy any of the above, leave a suitable note on his windscreen: it may do the trick.

Put a notice up, advising it is a private parking space, and anyone who parks there, will be clamped without warning.

You can buy wheel clamps quite easily, Then if he does it again, clamp the bug&er.

(note, not saying charge him for removl, just clamp him as a sharp shock)

'Borrow' (or buy) a road works cone, and put it in front of the space.

alb 74. I cant see why its a problem if you dont have a car at the moment and you do not require it for visitors to your home.
I would put a sign up warning of clamping in progress.
How about giving this guy permission in the short term while you have no car. You may make a friend as well as a good neighbor who will return a favor when you need one.

I may not have a car myself, but I do have friends and family visit and I should'nt have to worry wether they can gain access to my property. I don't think it possible to make friends with someone who abuses my rights and is aware he is doing so.
