In this country? If so, it's not illegal, it's just down to the management policies of the hotel. Many hotels still have rooms for smokers. The room ceases to become a public place the moment you rent it.
Full story posted at the link above and Jackthehat they are saying it is in the small print of their terms and conditions and that i agreed by signing. i had jus done a 12 hour day and they didn't draw my attention to it specifically.
ref the terms and conditions part of your above post, they cannot claim that by simply making a booking you agree to their t&c if you have not been made aware of them, this is usually a tick box, or a clearly visible statement to say as such.
They could include ridiculas terms such as, anyone who uses more than 2 sheets of toilet paper will be charged £10 replacement fee, please see my post on the other thread.
