divorced partner some 12 years ago, my name is still on the mortgage, but doesnt seem to be on the land registry, am i still entitled to claim half the house?

Highly unlikely after all this time, unless you have been paying all or some of the mortgage over the last 12 years. Quite often when a couple separates, if the person remaining in the house cannot remortgage in their sole name, the other persons name is only taken off the title but left on the mortgage and the person remaining the house will indemnify the other party.
