Statutory Declaration - Any Advice Please!

Hi,

I posted in the criminal section here recently, but wondered if you guys would be so kind to to assist me further.

Quite simply I am not in a position to pay Court fines I have unfortunately acquired. My question is, is a statutory declaration effective in preventing bailiffs from entering my parents property?

I am currently of no fixed address but receive mail via my parents home. I understand that I will likely be committed to prison by not paying the fine, but I am not currently employed and don't claim benefits.

Hi,

thanks very much for your response. I was unfortunately dismissed from my previous employment when I was arrested. Consequently my life savings have now become depleted and I've found myself in a precarious position (I've never claimed benefits incidentally).

Fututre employment prospects are low and housing is now an issue - homelessness is beckoning.

Although the Courts were informed of my position they proceeded nonetheless with a fine. Thus to answer your question directly, no I'm not being "bloody-minded", I'm merely concerned that unscrupulous bailiffs may attempt to apprehend property that belongs to my parents.
