I tried putting this in Google Translate but it came up with nothing
Factor30 - SSP, Statutory sick pay.

Donna, I assumed you have started here?

If you want to be funny, please be helpful first, then funny!

Hi Ed,

And it's the "and given a me EU SSP" I didn't get.

Yes I'm usually pretty helpful i think but surely you agree some questioners don't help themselves. Putting something in the question details box helps too!.
Okay, now I've been told off by ABed and don't want to be banned for not being helpful can I clarify what you are asking.
Are you an employer? Has an employee been sick whilst abroad? What did you mean by "Given A Me EU SSP". Is this a form someone fills in when they are ill in another country?
Can no-one help Donna60 out here? There's only the Spare Ed and me keeping this one going!
no, sorry f30, and AB Editor (who ignores my emails, anyway)
I too have googled all varieties of the above and am no nearer, sorry. (apart from SSP of course)
Wouldn't have thought so. The person was on his own time when he fell ill.
I work for the gov't and if I book annual leave, then fall ill, I can change it to sick leave.
If the person was away on holiday, presumably booked holiday, then he was on leave and not off sick. Had he been well he would not have been available for work would he.
This person is just peeved because he lost part of his holiday to sickness and wants to get some cash together to go away again!
The answer is no, he is not due SSP.

Your employee is correct in asserting his right to have part of his holiday entitlement converted to sick leave (thus enabling him to take that part of his holiday at a later date). That right has been established by a ruling from the European Court of Justice.

Good answer Buenchico/Chris. I think we may be on the right lines - perhaps Donna might come back on to let us know. I'm still puzzled by the " and given a me EU SSP".
Donna- are you able to clarify the question for us?
Can we assume you no longer need any responses on this? If you are new to AB you can respond by simply answering your own question.
