Working hours
Could anyone tell me who I can contact with regard to reporting the Residential Home I work in about people working over 60 hours a week? The English staff are continually being discriminated against as the permanent staff are being given all the crappy shifts and the Bank staff having set shifts ( Bank staff who are all filipinos ) Any advice I would be grateful for.

Great. Thanks for that. My current Manager leaves in a week and she is aware of this, as is area manager and have said in the past these people cannot have two jobs. Problem is still continuing. I am permanent staff, went into work today and the next four weeks rota has been done and my shifts are all over the place yet again. The Filipino who does rota has done this as she knows manager is leaving and area manager will be taking over unil July when new manager takes over. I don't see why I should be driven out of the job I love because of this. I've just had the shift from Hell due to staff shortages as nobody will work the afternoon shift.
It surprised me that bank staff are being used so extensively since agency staff are usually more expensive than employed staff - seems very odd, the whole idea of bank is to fill gaps when there are staff shortages. I know you've posted on this before and I can't remember if they are short of permanent staff, but it seems a strange way to run a business. Can you not look to move to another home where things might be better?
The so called Bank staff are all Filipinos who left when their 5 years were up to gain their residency. They've taken jobs in other homes or at the Hospital. One girl in particular is always half to one hour late for shift hand over as she comes straight from working a night shift. She also leaves when she pleases to go to other job. I think manager turns a blind eye and now she's leaving next week so doesn't care. These Filipinos are doing what they want and when they want. How on earth can this be fair?
