please help ive been ripped off!

hi all,
can anyone help me? i bought some football shirts for christmas online from "soccer triads"
the site looked so legit & accepted paypal. the shirts were so cheap so i ordered loads. when they came they were cheap fakes from the far east. i have opened a case up with paypal but i want to take more action. i complained to soccer traids and told them i thought they were dropshippers ( the site says they are based in scotland & the shirts arrived from asia. now,the reason i am so angry is they have been calling me "a jumped up little Lady Veg" i am a single mother who was just trying to get my kids the most recent man united shirts for christmas. now i am out of pocket & feel horrible that i have been called a "Lady Veg" which to me is the worst swear word in the world! please help! have a lovely, peacful christmas all xxxx

sezweblee, tihnk you're best leaving it in the hands of Paypal, they sohuld help sort this out for you.

As for what this company called you, is this via email? If so, make sure you keep that particular correspondence, it might help your case.

If you kick up enough of a fuss with paypal you will get your money back- although it may take time- so firstly don't worry- it's the very reason I don't accept paypal- they always err on the side of the customer pretty much whatever the situaiton. Go and see your local trading standards dept, they can exert a fair amount of pressure and contact the merchandise shop at the football clubs concerned, who will make their lives hell. I believe that paypal now has a helpline you can call- that might speed things up a little, anyway I hope you get it sorted in a timely manner.

i cannot see anywhere on the site that says they are from scotland. The company has no address given or contact number and only has an email form to complete for contact.

Sadly this may be a lesson to learn from. Im not sure how paypal can help. Did you pay by credit card via the site or a visa debit? they may be able to offer further advice

Gotta admit, id be wary of a company that called itself "triads", but then i guess its easy being smug in hindsite isn't it?

Poor you - i know how you feel, it happened to me once. I felt so angry!
As for being gullible, is it too much to ask for people to just trust one another these days? What you are told is for sale - sholud be for sale. I don't think you're a fool for falling for a clever scam.

I shall tell everyone i know about the site, and to avoid it.
I really hope you get some satisfaction. Don't think too much about what they called you. They are morons. x x x

Certainly contact trading standards, but I wouldn't hold out any hope of getting your money back and I wouldn't expect much help from Paypal either. Going on the experiences of a few people I've spoken to or heard from in forums, they really couldn't give a toss.

As for what they called you, don't take it personally (because you know it's just not true), tell them you're going to take them to court and threaten them with the BBC. Maybe you don't plan on doing either of those things, but it sometimes works and if it doesn't, then do it anyway. I'd also let Man Utd's marketing arm know about them, as well as any other clubs whose gear they claim to sell, because even if you feel you can't prosecute, the big clubs will have no such qualms.

And for the future, remember the consumer's mantra - if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

I found a forum talking about this site and the general feeling was people were happy enough with what they got given the price someone paid €20 another €16.80 including delivery so they were definately going to be copies.I feel for you but Im not sure you have really been ripped off if you paid close to full retail price and got a replica then....But no excuse for them to you call that.
