One of the group of three person B threw a punch at the victim, victim punched my relative man A and he returned the punch, they then got in a bundle scrap on the floor and up against the wall, man C in the group split the fight up and they left. next day the police went to see person b and c, the police called person a at work and asked for him to come to station rather than receive a visit at work.man A, is in a good job, with no previous record. I do not condone what they did and violence is not the answer, however I would like to know thoughts of people and if they think person A is facing a custodial term. It seems that person A has had a ‘mad moment’ and things got out of control, he fully complied with the officers with finger prints DNA, the staff sergeant has said that he can see man a is in a good job, well respected no history and has made a terrible error and the officer will vouch for him in court if it goes that far? He has to go to station next month where he will be charged and the staff sergeant has suggested that what he has done is wrong and violence is not the answer he is worst case looking @ short custodial but more than likely community pay back and fine. Is this likely and is there a maximum fine and term that he could receive? The aggravated burglary I believe comes in to force as they knocked on the door and pushed it open. Is the officer right to say this to him and is this a likely outcome. The victim is a well known to the police for drug and violence related issues to others and the girlfriend when in relationship, this may go in their favour as it has been slightly embellished by the victim the police are aware of this and the victims history.
