Joining the BRitish Army with a common assault?

Hi all,

Well basically I was convicted for common assault by beating (battery) section 39 it was in a doemstic enviroment.

Anyway I went to my AFCO's a few months ago and they told me to come back when I had done my ommunity sevice, paid my fine and compensation, and sueprvision order... that will be finished in a month, anyway they told me to go back after I had completed those things, am I then safe to assume I can join the army? Paras so infantry nothing like AGC or RMPs just infantry (best at that ) :)thanks all! ... first offence btw... i'm 19 too.

I do not know the correct answer but go the the Army Careers Office and direct the question to the AFCO's. I think there is a 'live chat' facility on the Army careers webite which is linked to the AFCO's.

(go for the Para's).

My boyfriend was fined for section 39 and he has been in the army since. Still there now in fact :)
